Materials & Sustainability

The seat is made using Matek®, Mater’s patented material technology that combines fibre-based waste with a binder to create a mouldable, durable material.

Depending on the version, Matek® can incorporate materials such as recycled plastic, e-waste, coffee shell waste and wood waste, helping redirect existing resources into new furniture production.

The Earth Stool Backrest contains approximately 1,590 g of waste materials, according to the manufacturer.

Care & Maintenance

Wipe the Matek® surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry afterwards.

Clean the steel frame with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals. Always follow Mater’s specific care guidance for the finish supplied.
